Come and Breathe in the Beauty of the Red River Gorge. You will pick up your info on Friday night before the race and have plenty of time to enjoy the area. Visit our local restaurants and shops and stay at a friendly campground or cozy cabin, or local motel. Saturday morning you will park by the river at John Swift’s Campground and begin your Walk/Run on the road in the middle of the Red River Gorge. Life is short, so Get healthy this year and do something for yourself and your friends.This is a Great fun family event, and a Stroller friendly course. Pets will need to visit another time.
Packet pick up is at the Nada Mission Church on HWY 77 from 5-9 pm Friday June 5th. Watch for Signs. Please work it out to get the packets on Friday evening. On Saturday morning, be parked at John Swift Campground and ready by 8:45 am. Race starts at 9 am. This is a road race, so for your safety Please Stay In the LEFT Lane at all times, and carry water with you .There will be one water stop before the Tunnel where you will be given a flashlight. A shuttle will return you to your car at John Swift Campground. Please remind your friends and family to observe area parking signs. There is limited spectator parking, and it is no fun having your car towed. This is a beautiful place to run and always a great family event! Sign up now to run the Nada Tunnel 8k on June 6, 2020, and we hope to see you on September 26th for Rugged Red Trail Half Marathon too. The Red River Gorge is located about 50 miles southeast of Lexington, Kentucky along Kentucky’s gorgeous Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway. The course starts at John Swift Camp Ground on Hwy 715 about 200 yards from the intersection of Hwy 715 and 77. The course goes west to Hwy 77 and turns left. Cross the Green Bridge over the Red River and continues on for about two miles to the Nada Tunnel. Once through the tunnel, run downhill another two miles into Nada where the race ends. You may try using your Google Maps GPS to get to Nada which is located at the intersection of Kentucky Hwy 15 and Hwy 77 in Powell County. It is 10 miles east of Stanton on Hwy 15.
